GenB Focus Groups: Space for reflection on Bioeconomy Learning

may 01st 2023 Valencia, Spain; Athens, Greece & online

During April and May, the GenB Project held focus group sessions with students and teachers in 12 European and 3 South-East Asian countries, such as: Spain, Greece, Romania, Italy, Sweden, Portugal, Serbia, Croatia, Bulgaria, Ireland and Republic of North Macedonia, on behalf of Europe; and India, Turkey and Pakistan on the South-East Asian countries’ side.

These focus groups have been developed by the partners HSPN and EUN, and by AIJU as coordinator of the activity.

A total of 888 students between 4 and 19 years old, and 29 teachers from early childhood, primary and secondary education have participated in the focus groups!

In these sessions, kids, youngsters and teachers shared the students’ preferences on didactic strategies and dynamics aimed at promoting Bioeconomy education for children and adolescents, designed in the co-creation sessions of the Common Ground Camp of the GenB Project, which took place in Athens in February.

The outcome was a rich exchange of visions and experiences on Bioeconomy, giving children and young people a voice and encouraging them to take a leading role in the transition to a sustainable and circular Bioeconomy
